With golden wallpaper featuring parrots and large palm trees crowding the floor, Marsano feels as much like an eccentric living room as a functioning florist. Since taking over the space in 2005, owners Katrin Jahn, Andreas Namysl, and Annett Kuhlmann have integrated botany with interior design, filling the room with antique cut glass vases and vintage furniture. This isn’t just set dressing – the furniture is part of a separate arm called Marsano Vintage, sourced from markets in Paris, London, and India, and much of what you see holding the flowers is for sale.
The arrangements themselves tend toward a loose, artistic style rather than rigid commercial structures. Since 2019, the team has committed to the "slow flowers" movement, cultivating a dedicated garden on Berlin’s outskirts. This plot allows them to grow rare or fragile varieties that wouldn’t survive standard shipping, bringing a specific texture to the shop floor that is hard to find elsewhere in Mitte. While the company handles large-scale concepts for hotels and weddings, the Charlottenstrasse location remains a browser’s space. You might see locals stopping in just for the visual shift, or catching one of the occasional workshops or fashion flea markets that take over the floor.
