A huge elliptical oculus cut into the ceiling is the first thing you’ll notice inside Open, flooding the main room with a column of natural light. The entire studio, set on a historic street just off the Venice boardwalk, was designed with this interplay of light and space in mind, drawing inspiration from the art movement that has deep roots in the neighborhood. Walls are finished in a textured acoustical stucco that insulates the room from outside noise, while tinted glass mirrors subtly distort reflections, creating a focused, multi-sensory environment.
This is the setting for the studio’s classes, which combine breathwork, meditation, and mindful fitness into what they call The Open Method™. The high-fidelity sound system is central to the practice – during certain sessions, the curated music from artists like KAYTRANADA is so powerful you can physically feel the sound vibrations in the room. This flagship location is an extension of the brand's popular wellness app, serving as the physical home for its community.
The experience is highly structured. For some classes, like Restore, you’ll walk in to find mats and blankets already arranged for you. Beyond the main movement space, the studio also has facilities for hot and cold therapy, including a dry sauna and a cold plunge pool that can be booked for dedicated sessions. Just be prepared for the logistics of getting here, as parking in the immediate area is notoriously difficult.
