Ideology Coffee builds its menu around two distinct approaches. On one side, you have the full lineup of classic espresso drinks – lattes, cortados, cappuccinos – alongside standard drip coffee and cold brew. On the other, there are the more inventive creations that define the place. This includes the Chagaccino, a blend of chaga mushroom, cacao, and cinnamon mixed with espresso, and the Blue Jasmine Matcha, which gets its distinct color from butterfly pea flowers steeped with jasmine tea and almond milk. You can also find less common options like a Raf Coffee, where espresso, half and half, and vanilla are all steamed together. The cafes themselves, with locations across Los Angeles, share a clean, tidy, and modern aesthetic. It’s a straightforward and organized environment that matches the focused menu. Food is similarly direct, sticking to a couple of simple toasts – one with avocado and another with salmon. The drink menu extends to include other matcha and chai lattes, as well as an espresso tonic, and there are usually seasonal specials available as well. While there are outposts in Pasadena, Glendale, and Sherman Oaks, the Downtown location on South Hope Street comes with the usual challenge of city parking. You’ll be looking for limited street spots, metered parking, or a nearby paid garage. The one key piece of information is that parking is typically free on Sundays.
