The big, horseshoe-shaped bar is the center of everything at Queen's Raw Bar & Grill. It seats up to twenty people and gives you a direct view into the kitchen, with a dramatic oyster display sitting right on the counter. The rest of the space is fairly compact, with some stained glass details and a constant energy that spills out from the kitchen and the bar itself.
The whole place takes its cues from Charleston, South Carolina – it's even named after the city's Queen Street. That influence is clear on the menu, which is built around Southern seafood and Lowcountry cooking. The raw bar is the foundation, stocked with a rotating selection of oysters and other shellfish. From the wood-fired grill come staples like Shrimp & Grits, Crispy Brook Trout, and a classic She Crab Soup. Hush puppies and various crudos fill out the list of shareable plates.
Outside, a small patio provides some extra seating and is dog-friendly. You’ll find a small parking lot right in front with space for about ten cars, but it fills up quickly. While reservations are a good idea for a table, the bar itself is often the best bet for walk-ins. Just know that a 20% service charge is automatically added to the bill.
