Husch Vineyards Winery sits just off Highway 128 near Philo — a small, estate-grown operation surrounded by Anderson Valley’s coastal mountains. Founded in the early 1970s, it’s one of the region’s oldest wineries, still family-run and rooted in the same plot of vineyard land.
The tasting room operates out of a redwood cottage tucked between the vines. Inside, guests sample small-batch wines from the property’s own grapes, including Knoll Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, and a dry Chenin Blanc offered through the wine club. Tastings are offered at no charge, with no appointment needed.
Aroma jars set along the bar let guests smell through common tasting notes — lemon, lychee, mango, vanilla — adding an interactive element to the otherwise unhurried experience. Seating outside includes shaded picnic spots with views across the vines.
The pace stays relaxed and informal, with a focus on the wine itself over presentation. Husch doesn’t host large events or tours — just a small team, a modest room, and estate wines poured where they’re made.
