Occupying a prominent corner in the Golden Triangle, this 1920s establishment underwent a complete overhaul in 2019 to align its Haussmann bones with a lighter, more contemporary finish. The result is a property that feels distinct from the heavier luxury hotels nearby. While the grand volumes, ornate moldings, and restored oak parquet floors remain, they now frame bespoke furniture and Art Deco references. The color palette shifts depending on which floor you are on, moving through powder pinks, celadon greens, and blues.
With 50 rooms, the scale allows for a certain level of quiet. Many suites feature balconies with wrought iron details, and the upper levels offer direct lines of sight to the Eiffel Tower. Inside, the focus on well-being is tangible – you find yoga mats provided in the rooms, and the downstairs restaurant, Café 52, prioritizes organic, seasonal, and often vegetarian cuisine over heavy cream sauces. This space serves as the hotel’s social center, transitioning from breakfast service to business lunches and evening cocktails.
Below street level, the Thala Spa provides a marble-clad retreat with a large jacuzzi and hammam. It is a place that respects its history – the song "C'est si Bon" was written here in the 1940s – but operates with a modern, health-conscious sensibility that feels very current.
