Knot Springs occupies the 4th and 5th floors of the YARD apartment building, right at the east end of the Burnside Bridge. Its open-air corridors and outdoor terraces are designed to take full advantage of the elevation, with panoramic views of the Willamette River and the downtown skyline. The interior, designed by Skylab Architecture, is inspired by the natural hot springs of the Alvord Desert, and an elemental palette of concrete, wood, steel, and glass gives the space a grounded, modern feel.
The whole experience is built around a signature soaking pool circuit. You’ll find three waist-deep pools – a warm Tepidarium, a hot Caldarium, and a cold plunge – enclosed by glass walls decorated with plants and macramé details. A dry sauna and a steam room complete the circuit, and both feature custom, seasonal essential oil scents created by the local fragrance studio Maak Lab. The entire facility is a cell-free space, which helps maintain a quiet, reflective atmosphere.
A typical visit is a two-hour session in the springs, and everything you need is provided – Pendleton towels, slippers, and proprietary body wash and shampoo. Complimentary herbal tea and sparkling water are available to guests. Beyond the pools, there are dedicated rooms for a wide range of treatments, including nine different massage styles, facials, and foot rubs. There is also a full gym and studio space for fitness and yoga classes, from Pilates to aerial yoga. Entry is restricted to guests 18 and older.
