Löyly is the Finnish word for the steam that rises from hot sauna rocks, and the whole place is built around that single, focused idea. It’s a modern, stripped-down take on public bathing culture, with a clean, Scandinavian-inspired design that feels a world away from a typical bathhouse. The entire concept was born from research into global bathing traditions, aiming for a quiet, warm, and inviting aesthetic. Inside, the air smells of cedar from the traditional Finnish-style dry sauna that serves as the space's centerpiece.
The layout is communal and open, designed for a shared wellness experience. Alongside the dry sauna, there is also a steam room. A visit is booked in a two-hour block, giving you time to cycle through the heat and cool-down process. The common ritual involves heating up in either room, followed by a quick rinse in a cold shower for contrast therapy – there’s no cold plunge pool here. In the relaxation area, complimentary loose-leaf tea with refills is always available.
One of the most important things to know is the schedule. The spa alternates between men-only, women-only, and co-ed hours, so you’ll need to check the calendar before booking a visit. While the sauna is the core of the experience, you can also book therapeutic massages, like Swedish or Deep Tissue, and holistic facials that use botanical products from brands such as Dr. Hauschka. A popular option is the signature foot treatment, which includes an aromatic soak, an exfoliating salt scrub, and a foot massage. Löyly also develops and sells its own line of in-house sauna and skincare products. The facilities are compact, and capacity is intentionally managed to keep the atmosphere quiet.
