This historic area of Seoul is located next to the Gyeongbokgung palace and the former home of nobles. Today, it's full of historical hanok (600 of them!) alongside restaurants and other cultural attractions.
Korean literature is filled with references to the neighborhoods in Seochon. While few original landmarks stand today, the neighborhood still contains many historical signs and is the birthplace of King Sejong. Traditionally, the area is of great spiritual significance, partially due to its proximity to the Inwangsan mountain.
