Weekend Trips in Vancouver

1. Point Roberts, Washington, Vancouver

The southernmost point of the Tsawwassen community, this town is fascinatingly unique - belonging to the USA, yet only accessible by traveling through Canada. A great day trip, the visit does involve passport control. (TSA not accepted)

Small community on the west coast of Vancouver Island, offering rugged natural scenery. One of the world's top cold water surfing destinations. Orca whales also love the surrounding waters. A year-round destination.

3. Squamish, Vancouver

North of Vancouver, along the Sea to Sky highway, Squamish has become a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Area activities include hiking, and mountain biking. The Stawamus Chief is one of the Vancouver area's most popular day hikes.

Seaside resort city in British Columbia named after the 468-ton granite rock on its beach. Visitors often drive to White Rock for walks along its famous pier - the longest in Canada. Whales can sometimes be spotted from the coastline.

A few hours east of Vancouver, in BC's interior, Lake Okanagan is located in the Okanagan Valley, surrounded by rolling hills, orchards, and vineyards. The area is known locally as "Napa North." It is a popular destination in the summer.
